Allan Centre – Bridge of Allan – New Friday Sessions Launching

Thanks to the continued hard work of your committee, we can announce that we are adding another Pickleball Session at the Allan Centre, Bridge of Allan.

This will be held on Fridays from 2:30pm to 4:30pm starting from the 28th of February.  Please note that there will be NO session on the FIRST Friday of each month, due to another event in the hall on these days. These will be released on the Events area of the App soon.

Peak Sunday Sessions Extending To End of June

There is further good news on The Peak, our existing booking for 6 courts on a Sunday will now be extended through to the end of June. As we get closer to that date we will have more visibility on what will happen regarding the planned construction at the Peak and what disruption it might have.

Club Clothing Webstore to Open Soon

We have now concluded work on our initial Club clothing designs and we expect to be able to launch the webstore in the coming weeks – watch out for an announcement!

Club Coaching News

Many of you will be aware that, sadly, our Club Coach, David Simpson, is moving away from the local area, so he will no longer be able to commit to the many coaching sessions he provided. We owe David a HUGE debt of gratitude for providing his coaching services at no charge to the club or members.  Thank you SO much!

Currently, we are in discussions with various coaching partners (including David) on the following coaching topics:-

*Beginners Get Into Pickleball – we will use our Club Ambassadors to provide these sessions
*Beginner Coach Led Sessions to lead people from Beginner to Improver
*Coaching Programs for Intermediate/Advanced Players
*Coaching for League Teams

While David provided some of these sessions free of charge to help get the club of the ground, we are now at the stage where we need to engage commercial coaching partners. Obviously this cannot be provided free of charge. We would hope however, that over time we could develop a pool of internal coaches to provide some of these services – however we are a long way away from that at the moment.

It is likely sessions like these will cost in the region of £10 to £15 plus your session fee to facilitate these. They would also probably be delivered in blocks of say 4 weeks sessions. More news on this will be released as discussions develop.

Regional League Team News

All three of our League teams have now played in at least one league game, and it is clear that the competition out there is tough!

Results so far:-

Team Bruce have played 1 and won 1

Team Murray have played 2 and won 1

Team Wallace have played 3 and lost 3  (2 of which were narrow defeats)

Well done to all players involved so far.
